Kyra M. Sedgwick (born Kyra Minturn) is an American actress and television personality. She has a large following throughout America and around the world because of her character as an actress in the TV The Closer.' Sedgwick was a lover of artistic expression, Broadway and performing since when she was 12 years old. She was introduced to Broadway through her mother who was interested in it. Sedgwick was only 16 when she made her professional acting debut in the television series 'AnotherWorld. While she started out with smaller-scale roles on television but it was the idea of becoming a professional actress that attracted her. Her debut big screen performance was in the movie "Born on the Fourth of July' in which she was co-starring with Tom Cruise. Sedgwick continued to get roles since she had successful with the film. She also got other films like : Singles, Heart and Souls and Phenomenon. She worked in a TV movie called 'Lemon Sky and met her husband and actor Kevin Bacon and got married to him at barely 22. Sedgwick became a household name in American television thanks to her impressive role in "The Closer" which was a seven-season television show that won her the Golden Globe Award and Emmy.
